Designed for the student already familiar with penetration testing, but who needs to improve their skills. This course is available to those individuals who have either:

1) Completed and certified in the Heorot.net 1DCPT course
2) Completed a similar course (accepted courses include those offered by EC-Council, GIAC Level 3+ courses, Remote-Exploit, etc.)

For those individuals familiar with hacker tools who have some penetration testing experience, the Nidan Certified Penetration Tester course will provide a comprehensive understanding of how to run a penetration test in a real-world environment. Students should have a solid understanding of Linux and the ability to effectively use commercial and Open Source hacker tools. The course covers the following topics:

• Application of the OSSTMM within a penetration test
• Risk Analysis and Security Metrics
• Network Packet Crafting
• Exploiting File System Security
• Web Application Testing
• Reviewing Code for Potential Exploits
• Password Encryption and Cracking Methodologies
• Advanced Techniques of Tools and Hacking Methods
• Hands-On experience conducting your own penetration test
• Project Management Processes and Techniques
• Documenting Your Results

By the end of the course, the student will be able to conduct and document a penetration test independently, using the OSSTMM methodology as taught in the class. Successful completion of the course includes the student providing a finished document to the instructor of their independent penetration testing project as detailed by the OSSTMM standards. The penetration test required for course completion will be against one of the course-provided LiveCDs. This LiveCD has not been released to the general public, and will only be available through the course offering.

This course is available only through online access, and requires the student to have a fast Internet connection to view the videos. In addition, the course will provide two LiveCD images that the student will download and create using CD-creating software. The student should also have a reasonable familiarity with the Linux operating system and common commands to complete this course. However, if for any reason the student cannot complete the training due to technical limitations, a full refund will be provided.

Cost for this course is $595, and includes a copy of the Professional Penetration Testing book, published by Syngress. Instruction is provided through video format which can be viewed during your schedule. Each student will have access to the videos for 180 days from the date of enrollment. Submission of the student’s independent penetration test documentation must occur within 120 days from the date of enrollment, in order to obtain a Certificate of Completion.
